Cabling and Bracing

Cabling and braces are used to provide structural support to a tree that might otherwise be struggling to hold its own. The cables and bracing are generally a high quality of steel able to withstand the growth of a tree and natures elements whilst offering support to its structure. It’s rare that this is needed, but it can save large branches from falling and causing damage during high wind storms and therefore can help protect property around it.

Irrigation

Trees and plants have very specific needs when it comes to watering. If a tree receives too little water it can become susceptible to disease and death. If the tree receives too much water then root rot becomes a concern. Arborists can develop systems to ensure a Tree is receiving the correct amount of water and therefore prevent any long term issues arising due to poor irrigation.

Pruning

As you may or may not know, all of our wood chip is donated to those who can receive it. We now have a list of allotments, colleges and schools who request the wood chip in Hull, Beverley, York and the surrounding areas.

We have donated to the public for play areas, chickens and simply for mulching around the garden.

If you are using wood chip for the garden to suppress weeds or around shrubs and trees to hold in moisture, then it is worth noting that unless the wood chip is allowed to sit for a week or two before use, it will take nitrogen away from the area it is used. The bacteria breaking down the wood need nitrogen for the process and  they will take it from the surrounding soil. Nitrogen deficiency can lead to long term growth problems.
